Wearing Patterns And Prints
September 25, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
Patterns and Prints are tricky when it comes to men. There is a huge variety of prints available in the market but not every print is good enough to be worn. Mostly people say that wearing horizontal stripes makes one look fatter, but it’s for the slim people. If you are bodily large then it mostly gives shape to you.
Men usually try mixing patterns when they are wearing suits and ties. But it should be kept in mind that while changing pattern one thing has to remain the same. Either it is the color or the design, one thing should always MATCH. Now don’t try to mix too many colors in one outfit. Limit your outfit in a maximum of three colors. And if you feel too confused by the choice of colors you have to wear, go online and check a color wheel! That will do it. Always remember “less is more” and stick to analogous and complementary colors.
The most important thing in patterns and prints is the color of your garments. If you have difficulty remembering which colors go well together, you should try using variations of the same color. Just like analogous colors, lighter and darker shades of the same color can often look good when matched, it forms a monochromatic effect. Black and white can go with any color. For instance, if you choose a large check shirt, then go for a small check tie as it could give zest to the outfit.
You should also bear in mind that the patterns and prints you are wearing should highlight your facial features and make you look confident! One more thing, wear the prints according to the weather, if its winter the colors should be dark and prints should be small, and neat. In winter one should avoid floral prints. During summers, one should wear cool and light colors and of course with big prints; to get a vibrant and vivacious look. Especially at beaches, fast colors always do the work and if it’s at luncheon then self printed outfits can be an option.
But whatever it is that you do, do what looks best on you, wear something which complements the color of your skin and facial features.
Is short hair better or long?

“A fine head of hair adds beauty to a good face and terror to an ugly one” ~ Lycurgus.
Hair is indeed an important factor in your individuality. Now a day, men are statistically spending more time in hair salons asking different question regarding their hair, than women. It is turn of the century, which has evoked dramatically, changes in men’s choice of hairstyles.
Many men experience receding hair-line when nearing 30. For some it even starts from early 20’s and for some it never occurs! But those men are lucky few, and unfortunately many have to go for a hair transplant. Thus, how to style your hair once your hair-fall problem is sorted. Should it be the short front; which is actually short bangs giving an illusion that hairline is not receding. Or should it be the side part; which is the classic of Italian men and is getting famous amongst politicians and businessmen this season. To achieve an appealing look, whether with short or long hair, one should use high gloss shine or pomade. And simply come back your hair! Short hair is easy to maintain, that’s why many opt for it.
As for men with longer hair, it is for those guys who don’t want some radical change within and basically suit men b/w 25-30. The overall length usually reaches the collar for such hair, and the longer part which is parted side just falls over the ear. Once Collin Farrell had long hairstyle and he was thought of as confident and classy. To achieve such hairstyle your front hair is to be cut at an angle – to add elevation and body to the hair; and the total hair length is to be kept below the shoulder.
This summer short and long, both styles are in. Whether it be extreme short shaggy hair, or David Beckham fawxhawk hairstyle, or Matt Lanter Crop hairdo; you can opt for what looks best upon you. Although it is a very daunting task but hey it’s your hair we are talking about. If you change your hairstyle just once, it can bring a completely new look to your persona! Best choose the hairstyle which is easy-going, free-flowing and eventually falls into place without much ado.
A casual man’s hairstyle has a natural attitude and grace to it. So have a good style but make it look more natural and casual, which just takes seconds to be fixed.

Suits & Ties Vs. Hoodies & Denims
September 17, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
Suits & Ties – depict professionalism, authority and control over all matters, while hoodies & denims – are more casual, homey and portray your easy & funky side. There is a huge gap between the two & they enhance two, completely different sides of one’s personality.
It takes trillionth of second for somebody to absorb in your persona by simply looking at you. But it’s important where and how they are seeing you as. If you’re a business associate then it’s definitely a suit & tie. But wearing white suits on streets & to cafés has become a norm as well. Usually, suits are worn by those who are in power, the mafia dons, businessmen, politicians, or to say that it is worn by much sinister people will not be wrong. But what if you see these people wearing hoodies with denims?? It’d be funny, yes. But when they are at ease, with no constant buzz of people around them, they can be imagined like that!
It’s the environment you are in which matters. Many people think hoodies are only appropriate for young people, but wait on a second – do they have any facts? Any scientist saying that only young can experience the “fun” one gets when wearing denims and hoodies?? It’s the mindset which has to change. When you dress you are revealing yourself as what you want to be seen as. True, one should make most out of his dressing but you should dress to be at ease and simply look snazzy.
Hoodies have a bad impression nowadays in UK. 75% of the articles in the newspaper are speaking of anti-hoodie culture. But it’s just that they blame everyone for a few foul eggs. Hoodies must be worn where you want yourself to feel young, easy going and carefree. Suits must be worn at places where you highly care about your style, where you want to look sophisticated and classy. When I say suits & ties, I don’t mean the CONVENTIAL 40’s suits, but suits which are fashionable, designer brand and inevitably charming!
By and by, it’s the age where everything you do, wear and are matters. You should dress to look exclusive, impressive and simply mind-blowing! In that matter “William Arnot” says: “If honor be your clothing, the suit will last a lifetime; but if clothing be your honor, it will soon be worn threadbare”. It all ends on you and your likes & dislikes.
Men’s Accessories: How to do it right?!
September 15, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
Accessories not only compliment what you are wearing but complete your look with an aesthetic touch. Accessories vary from cufflinks to cell-phone. Some say that men “must have” accessories are: a stylish laptop computer bag, aviator (or any) sunglasses, leather gloves, a cool watch, and cashmere. Not true and not always necessary. It is you who have to use it, not some hi-fi business tycoon or a fashion icon. Even if it is, is it not always necessary to carry what is relevant?
Although, sunglasses & a watch are a must, no matter what season it is. Because sun is always up and bright, shining in your eyes – OUCH! And as for a watch, well what time it is right now?? (Hope my point is clear.) These days cashmere or a merino wool worn around the neck is very hip, but if does not suits you then it is NOT at all required. My point is, wear what looks good on you not what is in.
No matter what style predicament you are in, there is always an accessory which can be the solution to it. If your hair doesn’t look good one day wear a hat! If your eyes are red from drinking, wear sunglasses! There is always a solution for everything; there is always an accessory to cover anything up!
This winter (2009-2010) the top winter essentials are Hogan shoes, Versace clothing, Tod’s Shoes, Dolce & Gabanna clothing, Gucci Shoes, Prada Wallets and Versace shirts. Accessories which are worn to specifically make you stand out in the crowd, are designers cufflinks, belts, shades, and sometime even a hat.
Often a mundane outfit is transformed into a majestically attractive one, all because of right accessories. Sometimes, even an ostentatious tie can make your style worth noting, at others shades speak out for you and beckon covetous glances. If the weather is cold it can allow you to have even more accessories, like gloves and scarves. But it should not be so casual so that it blends in; you wear accessories to GET obvious.
With the right kind of watch (yes, just a watch) you can make a fashion statement. Sometimes a casual watch creates a negative style impact. So make sure that whatever watch you wear, it is in harmony with the occasion and speaks for your personality.
So it all comes to – RIGHT TIME & RIGH ACCESSORY!
